Bangchak Supports “Olympic Day 2023 Walk-Run” Activities, Providing Carbon Offsets in line with “Sports for Climate Action” initiative throughout 2023

Pichai Chunhavajira, Vice President, National Olympic Committee of Thailand Under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King, and President of the Sport and Environment Subcommittee, chaired the opening ceremony of the 1st “Olympic Day 2023 Walk-Run” at Lan Pa Bei, Mueang District, Nan Province, visiting the Bangchak exhibition on the climate action and awareness, and circular economy. Gloyta Nathalang, Executive Vice President, Corporate Branding, Communication and Sustainability Activation, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, presented funds to support the activities and welcomed the chairman, along with Wiboon Waewbandit, Governor of Nan Province, and the organizing committee, with plants from the “Cups for Saplings” campaign, which are also given to event participants to increase green spaces and carbon dioxide absorption. Moreover, Bangchak also promotes proper waste management throughout the event, collecting plastic bottles to be recycled into caps for the first 100 participants to pass the finish line in the next three walk-run activities later in the year (Mukdahan Province, Chiang Mai Province, and Kanchanaburi Province). During the event, Bangchak provided Inthanin beverages and also offered special promotional prices for Furio lubricants.

Bangchak has supported the Olympic Day Walk-Run since 2018, and in 2023 has expanded its support along the “Sports for Climate Action” principles by assessing and offsetting the carbon footprint of all participants with carbon credits from the Carbon Markets Club to ensure that Olympic Day 2023 Walk-Run events throughout the year are Carbon Neutral.
