Bangchak Signs the Memorandum of Cooperation Between the Department of Industrial Works and Industrial Factories in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and Other Areas to Reduce Pollution and Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Thamarat Paryoonsuk, Senior Executive Vice President, Refinery and Oil Trading Business Group, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, joined the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Department of Industrial Works and industrial factories in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and other areas. The initiative aims to reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions as part of the project designed to drive the BCG economy through a circular economy system within industrial factories (under the BCG economic development project for the industrial sector focusing on CO2 reduction). Jullapong Thaveesri, Director General of the Department of Industrial Works, presided over the ceremony at the Amari Watergate Bangkok Hotel.

A total of seven factors have participated in this project, namely Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, AGC Vinythai Public Company Limited, Bangkok Synthetics Company Limited, Covestro (Thailand) Company Limited, Dow Thailand Group, Global Green Chemicals Public Company Limited, and SCG Chemical Public Company Limited.

The objective of this cooperation is to jointly promote the industrial sector’s adoption and implementation of measurement and reporting procedures, air pollution controls, and greenhouse gas reduction measures. The initiative aligns with the government’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction policy and supports Thailand’s effective management and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, it bolsters the implementation of greenhouse gas emissions reduction measures in the energy sector, with the goal of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050, and Net Zero GHG Emissions by 2065. While Bangchak has set targets of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2030, and Net Zero GHG Emissions by 2050.
