Bangchak Group’s Oam Suk Social Enterprise Signs Agreement to Pilot the “Cooperative Network to Combat Global Warming” Project,

Promoting Agricultural Cooperatives to Install Solar Cells on Rooftops and Support T-VER Carbon Credit Registration

Oam Suk Social Enterprise by Bangchak Group supported a network of cooperative service stations in installing solar cells systems on rooftops to save costs while facilitating the T-VER registration of the obtained carbon credits with the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO). The signing ceremony for the agreement to pilot the “Cooperative Network to Combat Global Warming” project with five large cooperatives that will become learning centers. Gloyta Nathalang, Executive Vice President, Corporate Branding, Communication and Sustainability Activation, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and Charnvit Trangadisaikul, Senior Executive Vice President of Investment, BCPG Public Company Limited, as directors of Oam Suk Social Enterprise Company Limited, jointly signed the agreement to pilot the “Cooperative Network to Combat Global Warming” project with participating cooperatives, represented by Thani Chanaklang, President, Phimai Agriculture Cooperative, Chen Nilamoon, President, Muang Lablae Agricultural Cooperative, Prathuan Kanta, Secretariat, Sanpatong Agricultural Cooperative, Kamol Lertprasertvej, President, Ban-Khaosok Para Rubber Fund Cooperative, and Samai Boonsan, President, Benchalak Agricultural Cooperative. The signing was joined by Kiatchai Maitriwong, Executive Director, Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) and Vattana Pornpatkul, Executive Vice President, Oil Retail and Corporate Marketing Business, Marketing Business Group, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited.

The project aims to harness clean energy for electricity generation. The installation of solar panel systems is designed to reduce expenses for cooperatives, aligning with the mission of Oam Suk Social Enterprise Company Limited, established by Bangchak and BCPG, to support agricultural cooperatives. In the future, as more cooperatives install solar panel systems, Bangchak will assist in registering the resulting carbon credits with TGO’s T-VER program. The generated revenue with be shared with the cooperatives, which can also serve as educational and demonstration centers for other interested cooperatives.
