On June 27, 2025, Mrs. Gloyta Nathalang, Senior Executive Vice President, Sustainability Management and Corporate Communications, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, represented the company at the 16th Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2025. Bangchak was recognised as one of the ESG Champions of Asia, receiving the Social Empowerment Award, along with the Gold Emblem of Sustainability from Enterprise Asia. The awards ceremony, held at The Athenee Hotel Bangkok, a Luxury Collection Hotel, celebrated Asian enterprises that exemplify governance, social responsibility, and sustainable development across various dimensions.
The Social Empowerment Award highlights the success of Bangchak’s long-standing community empowerment initiatives surrounding Bangchak Phra Khanong Refinery, “Growing Together Sustainably”. For over 40 years, the company has implemented a comprehensive community development framework across eight key areas: economy, education, quality of life, sports, community relations, safety, environment, and public benefit. These efforts focus on empowering communities from within, fostering resilience and sustainable self-reliance.
The Gold Emblem of Sustainability, awarded to organisations that have consistently demonstrated excellence in sustainability for eight years or more, affirms Bangchak’s unwavering dedication to integrating environmental and social considerations into its core business strategy. This commitment is guided by the BCG (Bio-Circular-Green) economic model, which aims to balance economic growth with the creation of shared value for society and the environment.
The Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) is a distinguished platform that recognises Asian businesses for excellence in responsible and sustainable practices. The awards span eight categories: Environmental Leadership, Social Empowerment, Health Promotion, Investment in People, Corporate Governance, Circular Economy Leadership, Sustainability Reporting, and Responsible Business Leadership. The evaluation is based on six core principles: Environment, Fairness, Health, Leadership, Community, and People—key pillars in promoting responsible entrepreneurship.
