Bangchak Group CEO Reinforces Asia’s Leadership in Green Energy Innovation at 42Geeks International Innovation Forum

Mr. Chaiwat Kovavisarach, Group Chief Executive Officer and President of Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, underscored Bangchak’s role as a leader in green energy innovation at the Thailand Energy & Innovation Session – 42Geeks Southeast Asia 2025 Tour. He joined Mr. Markus Ganterer, CFO of Constant Energy, in delivering keynote addresses and participated in a panel discussion on “Powering Thailand: The Race to Build a Smarter, Greener Energy Future,” moderated by Mr. Peter Wokwicz, CEO of Positron Capital Management. The event, held at True Digital Park, convened an exclusive group of technology innovators, venture capitalists, and family offices.

His session highlighted that the global energy landscape continues to face the pressing challenge of the Energy Trilemma, the need to balance energy security, affordability, and environmental sustainability. This demonstrates that the energy transition is not merely a replacement for old systems but a process of adding and creating new energy sources to meet rising global demand.

Over the past decade, Bangchak has achieved more than fivefold growth, pioneering and expanding across key businesses. These include introducing biodiesel and gasohol commercially in Thailand for the first time, investing in lithium mining to support the electric vehicle industry, expanding renewable energy businesses across Southeast Asia and the United States, establishing the Carbon Markets Club as the country’s first private-sector-driven carbon market platform, and advancing innovation within the Bangchak Group such as the Smart City project, which pilots energy storage and peer-to-peer electricity trading.

A critical driver of innovation is the Bangchak Initiative and Innovation Center (BiiC), the Group’s institute for innovation and business incubation. Positioned as Asia’s Green Innovation Hub, BiiC fosters the development of clean energy technologies that can scale commercially. Its focus spans efficiency-enhancing solutions, such as deploying AI and digital systems across refineries, power plants, and service stations, to pioneering Clean Molecules research including SAF, e-Fuels, green ammonia, fusion, and Synthetic Biology.

These advancements reaffirm that Bangchak is not simply adapting to the changing global energy landscape but actively shaping transformative change, through innovations that deliver tangible solutions and are ready to scale across the region and the world.
