Mahidol Uni Certifies Safe, Fresh Food at Bangchak’s SPAR Outlets

Mr. Somchai Tejavanija, chief marketing officer & senior executive vice president for marketing business group of Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and Professor Dr. Chatchalerm Isarankura-Na-Ayudhya, dean of Mahidol University’s Faculty of Medical Technology, have recently signed an agreement on the certification for fruits and vegetables sold at SPAR outlets. The certifying process aims at boosting consumer confidence in the quality of products available at these stores. The signing ceremony has taken place at the SPAR Srinakharin branch.

At present, the faculty has already certified 19 products sold at SPAR. These products come from the Plakmailai Organic Farmer Group based in Nakhon Pathom’s Kamphaeng Saen district. The certified products carry a green label. They are available at five of SPAR outlets to date.

SPAR operates retail outlets, which are located inside Bangchak service stations. Positioning itself as “Fresh & Easy Food Market’, SPAR sells food, beverages and baked items. It has also placed a strong emphasis on the freshness, quality and health benefits of its good choices. There are thus a great range of vegetables and fruits at SPAR. Bangchak Retail Company Limited, a subsidiary of Bangchak, has managed SPAR.
