Bangchak Group Sponsors Development of Thailand’s First Innovative Biosafety Mobile Unit That Can Simultaneously Handle 3 Cases: Innovation by KMITL and Mor Lab Panda

Mr. Chaiwat Kovavisarach, president and chief executive officer of Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, Mr. Bundit Sapianchai, president of BCPG Public Company Limited, and Mr. Kittiphong Limsuwannarot, chief executive officer of BBGI Public Company Limited, have accepted an innovative biosafety mobile unit from Asst. Prof. Dr. Antika Sawadsri and Mr. Surachet Chaiuppala, dean and deputy dean for corporate communication and IT strategy of the King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) respectively.

This mobile unit is Thailand’s first biosafety vehicle to be able to handle three cases simultaneously. It was designed through the collaboration of KMITL GO FIGHT COVID-19 Center, KMITL Research and Creative Design Center (RCDC) and Mor Lab Panda or medical technologist Pakpoom Dejhasadin for proactive COVID-19 cases finding. After receiving this innovative biosafety mobile unit, Bangchak Group has quickly dispatched it to communities in Bangkok’s Klong Toei district to help ease the COVID-19 crisis.

In addition, Bangchak Group has collaborated with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Defense Ministry’s Office of the Permanent Secretary, and the Bangpakok – Piyavate Hospital Group in setting up a COVID-19 vaccination unit for public services outside hospitals. Conducted in the second phase of Thailand’s COVID-19 vaccination rollout, this vaccination unit will operate at the multipurpose yard in front of the Bangchak refinery on Soi Sukhumvit 64. HackVax team has volunteered its services, laying down an efficient vaccination process at the site based on Design Thinking principle for service users’ good experiences.

“I would like to encourage everyone to get a shot to give our country herd community. The best vaccine is the one that is the fastest to be available to us,” Mr. Chaiwat concludes.
