Bangchak Group Partners Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Network and food service partners to Drive the Fry to Fly Initiative and Advance Sustainable Healthcare

On 5 June 2026, Bangchak Group executives, represented by BSGF Co., Ltd. and Bangkok Fuel Pipeline and Logistics Co., Ltd., together with executives of the Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Network, and food service partners, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the management of used cooking oil for conversion into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The collaboration advances Bangchak Group’s Fry to Fly initiative while integrating the Sustainable Healthcare concept of the Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Network, in partnership with Foodhouse Catering Services Co., Ltd. and Sodexo Services (Thailand) Co., Ltd., to promote sustainability, reduce environmental impact, and support healthier consumer practices. The signing ceremony was held at Phyathai Phaholyothin Hospital.

The MoU was signed by Mrs. Kanthamat Kritayanukul, Executive Vice President, Production, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and Director of BSGF Co., Ltd.; Mr. Atit Chinanthanasiri, General Manager of Bangkok Fuel Pipeline and Logistics Co., Ltd.; Mr. Itti Thongtang, Senior Executive Vice President of the Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Network; Mr. William Vovell, Operations Executive, Thailand, Food Services, Energy and Resources Platform and Food Business Strategy, Sodexo Services (Thailand) Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Nitinun Thammahathai, Director of Foodhouse Catering Services Co., Ltd.

This collaboration represents a significant step in integrating partnerships across the healthcare and environmental sectors to generate positive outcomes for society and advance the circular economy. Under Bangchak Group’s Fry to Fly and No Reuse Frying Oil initiatives, waste is transformed into new value as clean energy or alternative economic resources, enabling better public health outcomes alongside environmental stewardship. The partnership encourages operators and internal networks within the Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Network to manage used cooking oil efficiently and responsibly, and to sell it to BSGF for use as feedstock in SAF production. In parallel, the initiative promotes awareness among operators, vendors, and consumers of the health risks associated with reusing cooking oil. It also helps strengthen feedstock supply for Thailand’s first stand alone HEFA SPK SAF production unit, located at the Bangchak Phra Khanong Refinery, which commenced full commercial operations in May 2026.

The collaboration further aligns with the Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Network’s sustainable development approach, which emphasizes healthcare quality, environmental responsibility, social impact, and quality of life through ESG driven operations and Sustainable Healthcare principles. The network seeks to maintain balance between clinical excellence and the Green Hospital concept.

This partnership represents a collective effort to drive Thailand toward sustainability across environmental and public health dimensions. By promoting efficient resource management and expanding a nationwide network for used cooking oil collection, the initiative contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing the environmental impact of aviation, and fostering healthier lifestyles among consumers. It also marks a meaningful starting point in connection with World Environment Day, observed annually in June.
