Bangchak Join BAFS to Promote Adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel Among Partner Airlines, Supporting the Net Zero 2050 Goal of Aviation Sector

Pativat Tivasasit, Chief Operation Officer - Refinery Business Group, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited presided over the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the Cooperation of the Use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), signed by Thamarat Paryoonsuk, Acting Senior Executive Vice President, Refinery and Oil Trading Business Group, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited and M.L. Nathasit Diskul, President and Director, Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services Public Company Limited to promote the adoption of sustainable aviation fuel among partner domestic and international airlines, which is integral to reducing the aviation industry’s greenhouse gas emissions, supporting its Net Zero Emissions by 2050 target, and supporting the compliance of the Thai air transport system with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Drawing from the strengths of both organizations, with Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, the Leader in Energy Transition, targeting Carbon Neutrality by 2030 and Net Zero by 2050, whereby the Refinery and Oil Trading Business Group prioritizes investments in green businesses, including investing in the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from used cooking oil production unit helping to reduce greenhouse gas emission from the aviation industry, and the Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services Public Company Limited (BAFS), the largest provider of aircraft refueling in Thailand, operating the management, storage, and refueling of aviation fuel to aircrafts, marking this cooperation as the beginning of the journey towards achieving greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets of the energy sector by the aviation industry, to mobilize Thailand as the regional center for Sustainable Aviation fuel production, benefitting the economy, society, and the environment, completely aligned with the BCG Economy Model.
