Bangchak Group and Partners Invite Public to “Plant Trees”, Increase Green Spaces, and Restore Balance to the Ecosystem through Green Carbon

In Celebration of the 90th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and Thai Mother’s Day, 12 August 2022

Forest ecosystems or Green Carbon is a strategy that can restore balance to the ecosystem through natural carbonsequestration, which Bangchak hascontinuously pursued through theexpansion of green spaces throughout the country and communities.

This year to celebrate the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and Thai Mother’s Day on 12 August 2022, Bangchak Group initiated the “Punsook Urban Greenery” campaign, a joint collaboration of environmental conservation partners, including Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, theExpressway Authority of Thailand, the Royal Forest Department, Bang Nam Phueng Sub District AdministrationOrganization etc. to promote theexpansion of green spaces by the refinery communities, executives and employees, and the general public to plant trees reflecting the dedication to increasing green spaces to filter dust, reduce carbon dioxide through natural carbon sequestration to enhance ecosystem equilibrium with each sapling provided through various activities throughout August 2022.

Enhance green spaces surrounding Bangchak Refinery by planting 3,290 trees

“Punsook Urban Greenery” was launched by Bangchak Group, in collaboration withBangkok Metropolitan Administration, Phra Khanong District Office, the Expressway Authority of Thailand, the refinery communities, and Poonsin School, planting 3,290 trees, such as Ratchaphruek (Golden Shower), White Champaka, Yellow Star, Yellow Elder etc. in the garden in front of Poonsin and improving the overall appearance of Sukhumvit 64 alley.

Plant 900 trees to honor Her Majesty, increasing green spaces for Khung Bang Kachao

Bangchak, in collaboration with Bang Nam Phueng Sub District Administration Organization, Bang Nam Phueng Sub District Administration Organization Phra Pradeang Distrcit, the Royal Forest Department, Nakhon Khuean Khan Park, and Samut Prakan AdministrationOrganization planted 400 trees to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, including resin, mahogany, ardisia, rain tree, jackfruit etc. on 9 August 2022 at the designated planting space in Tambon Bang Nam Phueng, Samut Prakan Province, and plant to plant an additional 500 nearby, totaling 900 plants in the heart of what is considered the Lung of Bangkok and Samut Prakan, a source of fresh air, relaxation, and ecological benefit.

Distribute 9,000 seedlings from 9 different tree species to customers and the public at 9 Bangchak service stations, and 9 Inthanin locations

Bangchak and the Royal Forest Department invite public to join “Punsook Urban Greenery” project by distributing 9,000 seedlings from 9 different plant species at 9 Bangchak service station and 9 Inthanin outlets from 10 - 12 August 2022 to customers and the general public to increase green spaces. The 9 species shade-providing perennial species are Siris, Indian Gooseberry, Indian Trumpet Tree, Wishing Tree Trumpet Tree, Silver Trumpet Tree, Tree Jasmine, Freshwater Mangrove and Java Plum

Seedlings for Bangchak Group Employees

Bangchak Group executives and employees were also encouraged to plant more trees to help increase green areas at their own space.

Distributing seedlings with the Phra Khanong District Office

Bangchak also joined Phra Khanong District Office to celebrate the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, 12 August 2022, by distributing the seedlings to the public at large.
