Bangchak Executive Joins Discussion on “Accessible Power for Everyone” at the “RÊVERLUTION: Our Vision of a Decarbonized Future" Event

Gloyta Nathalang, Executive Vice President, Corporate Branding, Communication and Sustainability Activation, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, participated as a panelist in the discussion on “Accessible Power for Everyone” during the announcement of the vision to drive the low-carbon society event, “RÊVERLUTION: Our Vision of a Decarbonized Future” organized by Rever Automotive Company Limited. The event introduced an offer of “carbon credits” to BYD customers who contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions each kilometer driven.

Gloyta remarked on Bangchak’s role in transforming its business to adapt to global changes and foster balance in business operations. Bangchak engages in five main businesses, namely, refinery and oil trading business, marketing business, power business, bio-based products business, natural resources business, and new business. Bangchak has proactively expanded its business portfolio to align with energy transition trends, placing a significant emphasis on promoting the low-carbon society. Bangchak has set the targets to achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2030 and Net Zero GHG Emissions by 2050. Furthermore, Bangchak has spearheaded the establishment of Carbon Markets Club to support and facilitate carbon credit trading and stimulate the carbon market in the country. The club plays a vital role in disseminating knowledge and fostering understanding of carbon footprint assessment, carbon offsetting, and other related topics to raise awareness through various communication channels.

Furthermore, Bangchak has played a role in creating an ecosystem to support the growing number of electric vehicle users through its in-house startup Winnonie, which operates as an electric motorcycle rental platform. Currently, Winnonie serves over 700 customers with more than 100 battery-swapping stations. Moreover, Bangchak utilizes space within its service station to provide on the go charging services for traveling electric vehicle users at more than 200 locations (equipped with 800 charging ports) across the country. As Bangchak as recently expanded its service station network to cover approximately 2,200 service stations, this has provided an opportunity to provide electric vehicle consumers with an enhanced network of service channels. Bangchak is committed to developing its service stations into “Your Greenovative Destination for Intergeneration”, a destination that caters to the needs of customers of all ages.
