Bangchak Group and Bai Mai Pun Suk Foundation Expand “Fry to Fly” Stations: Where Sustainability Takes Off from Schools

Bangchak Group and Bai Mai Pun Suk Foundation are now accepting applications from schools in Bangkok and surrounding areas to join the “Fry to Fly Station” initiative. Participating schools will establish collection points for used cooking oil, which will be gathered and processed into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This project is expanding from pilot schools to promote experiential learning, environmental awareness, and a circular economy within communities.
Mrs. Gloyta Nathalang, Senior Executive Vice President, Sustainability Management and Corporate Communications, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and a board member of the Bai Mai Pun Suk Foundation, said “This initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to shaping a stronger society and a greener planet through active learning and purposeful action. It encourages students, teachers, parents, and communities to work together in converting waste into clean energy, while generating income, easing the burden on community waste systems, and mitigating health impacts associated with reused cooking oil.”
The “Fry to Fly Station” project began in 2024 at four pilot schools: Wat Lat Krabang School (Silaphirat Uppatham), Poonsin School (Phetsuk Uppatham), Phongploy Anusorn School, and Wat Bang Na Nai School (Ruen Sayamanon). Following the success of these model schools, the Foundation aims to expand the initiative to 40 schools in Bangkok and surrounding areas this year. Participating schools will receive training on station management and communication materials from the Bai Mai Pun Suk Foundation.
As the Foundation enters its 9th year, it invites the public to support its mission in fostering a learning-based and sustainable society. Donations can be made via the link or QR code provided and will go towards projects such as “Read and Write with Ease”, “Solar Pun Suk”, “School Lunch Program”, and youth awareness programs at the Foundation’s learning stations.
Donations are tax-deductible, and donors contributing 800 THB or more will receive a complimentary fabric tote bag. Mailing details can be submitted via the donation form (bags are available in limited quantities and the Foundation reserves the right to select the color).
