Bangchak Showcases Regenerative Action “From Sustainability to Regeneration” at Regional and Industry Forums Driving a Sustainable and Inclusive Transition for Business

Recently, Mrs. Gloyta Nathalang, Senior Executive Vice President, Sustainability Management and Corporate Communications, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, was invited to speak at two major platforms: the International CSR & Sustainability Summit (ICS 2025) organized by Enterprise Asia on 27 June and the Sustainable & Green Industrial Leadership (SGIL) program (Batch 1) organized by the Industrial Academy of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand on 5 July. Both engagements highlighted Bangchak Group’s leading role in advancing the energy transition through concrete regenerative initiatives that restore ecosystems, empower communities, and foster long-term resilience across economic, social, and environmental dimensions.

At ICS 2025, Mrs. Gloyta delivered a keynote presentation titled “From Sustainability to Regeneration: Leading the Green Transition”, presenting Bangchak Group’s strategic shift toward a future of balance and resilience through the brand idea “Greenovate to Regenerate – Restoring Balance, Empowering Possibility.” This concept builds on sustainability and takes it a step further into regeneration, with concrete examples of Bangchak Group’s ongoing efforts to transform its business. These include converting used cooking oil into biodiesel and further into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) under the “Fry to Fly” initiative; developing Greenovative Destinations, multi-functional service stations that serve as inclusive lifestyle hubs for people of all ages and backgrounds with high-quality, environmentally friendly products; and creating shared value with communities through initiatives such as community and agricultural cooperative stations, the Low-Carbon Cooperative Network, solar panel installations in cooperatives, support for local products, and social enterprise development. She also highlighted the Group’s environmental restoration efforts, including seagrass nurseries in Sriracha and Koh Mak, as well as the development of a low-carbon ecosystem through the Carbon Markets Club, which Bangchak co-founded. The Club promotes a credible and transparent voluntary carbon market, supporting regional integration under the ASEAN Common Carbon Framework.

In the SGIL forum, Mrs. Gloyta spoke on the topic “Lower Carbon, Greater Opportunity: Reinventing Thai Industry for the Future”, where she shared Bangchak Group’s transition journey and the role of the Carbon Markets Club. She emphasized the “new opportunities” for Thai industry in transitioning to a low-carbon economy, not only as a response to environmental concerns but also as a way to enhance long-term competitiveness. She proposed actionable strategies, such as starting with energy audits and efficiency improvements, accessing government and financial support through tools like environmental tax incentives, low-interest green loans, and ESG-aligned business development funds; engaging suppliers and partners in adopting sustainability standards; and developing environmentally friendly products and services that align with global market trends.

The key takeaway from both sessions was clear: “Sustainability may no longer be enough in a world facing multiple crises, from global warming and natural resource degradation to growing social inequality. What we need now is a business approach that not only reduces harm but restores and gives back more than it takes. And that requires collaboration across all sectors to build a low-carbon ecosystem that enables a meaningful and lasting transition.” Mrs. Gloyta called for cross-sectoral cooperation to co-create systems that grow in harmony with society and the environment, not just to sustain, but to regenerate and return real value to the planet.
